What is AusAPT?

AusAPT stands for "Australian Association for Psychological Type" Inc.

The Australian Association for Psychological Type exists to promote knowledge and use of psychological type in Australian society, in particular, for professional users of type.


AusAPT is a not-for-profit incorporated body with the following objects:

Founded in 1992, AusAPT operates Australia-wide via four regions, and maintains strong links with the international type community.

The primary mission of the Australian Association of Psychological Type, AusAPT and all APTs, is outlined in document "Three Ethical Principles for the Use of Psychological Type".


AusAPT publishes a periodical, the Australian Psychological Type Review; supports the Psychological Type Research Unit; and holds biennial National Conferences.


AusAPT invites membership applications from type practitioners and others with an interest in type. Members receive the Australian Psychological Type Review and regional newsletters, and are entitled to discounts at national conferences and other activities.

AusAPT's members include psychologists, consultants, academics, teachers, trainers, managers, human resources specialists, counselors, social workers, clergy, students and many others.
