About Type: Psychological Type Theory

What it does...

  • Promotes understanding of self and others
  • Facilitates better communication between people
  • Respects a person's uniqueness

What it does not do...

  • Type Theory does not categorise and dismiss a person as a certain 'type' and that is all they are. Human behavior is much more varied and complex.
  • Type Theory does not offer an excuse for a person's behavior.
  • Type Theory does not label preferences as good or bad. All preferences are valuable.
  • Type Theory does not infringe on a person's freedom. It indicates how a person prefers to exercise his/her freedom.
