New: Feedback from the Marian Power 16Types presentation in May Click to view SA/NT President's 2006 Annual Report movie Hello SA & NT members, We have had two meetings since our last newsletter. Marian Power presented at our May meeting on 16 Types. It was a well attended meeting, with a lot of interest shown in the new tool. I attempted a new way of painlessly eliciting feedback from participants, which was intended to be posted on or website along with the photos of the evening. Before I could get at the photos, our camera was mislaid (in a taxi by my daughter), so the comments went up sans photos. The good news is that the camera was returned to us last week through a long circuitous route. One of our members, Kay Hennessy, attended the BAPT conference, and gave a delightful presentation with her feedback and insights to the small group who met this week. The SA/NT AusAPT group was sponsoring members to attend the Linda Berens 16 Types event. We were very disappointed when this was cancelled, as we had many members looking forward to increase their understanding of the new tool. We are very much looking forward to having Ian Ball come for our September meeting. This is a wonderful opportunity for members to find out more about the Psychological Type Research Unit. Ian will discuss the findings of the MBTI Australian Data Archive project, with particular reference to gender differences, differences between age cohorts, and data relating to Indigenous Australians. Anne Russell has provided us with lots to think about at past presentations and her October offering promises to be just as engaging. She poses the question - Why is it that some people with a Judging orientation find it difficult to bring rapid closure in their decision making? Similarly, why do some people with a Perceiving orientation hold fast to decisions they have made? Our final event for 2007 will be our November Christmas Party - already sounding mysterious and exciting from the hints from one of the organisers! Our short AGM will precede the party. This will be my last year as president, so this will be the opportunity to welcome the incomer. Please contact me for further information if you are interested in taking over this role. Please note a change in the date for the October meeting in the calendar of events. It is now on Wednesday 24th October. I look forward to catching up with many of you at the September meeting.
Lucia Doherty
